Year R--Summer 2017
It is hard to believe that this year group are almost at their end of their first year in school - what a busy one it has been! Our project has been Water and Under the Sea, To start with we looked at The Rainbow Fish before trying to help Sailor Bear get home after being stranded on a desert island. The children enjoyed making boats and writing their own messages in a bottle to try and help him.
We have also been to the Sea Life Centre to find out about lots of under the sea creatures and we all went on the Gosport Ferry to find out what it was like to travel on the water. We also saw lots of different vehicles for travelling on the water and tried to make our own when we got back to school.
We have also been doing a lot of learning about celebrations and Traditional Tales. Over the last few weeks we have had Red Riding Hood’s Birthday, Granny’s tea party, Sleeping Beauty’s Christening and Cinderella’s wedding. We have had great fun taking on different roles, preparing for a party and dressing up.
Last Friday we also did our very first year group assembly which was fabulous!
